This series of books, through the use of exquisitely detailed photographs, highlights many freight cars photographed in the mid-to-late 1930s in southern California. They are particularly useful to modelers as they contain many close-up views that were photographed for the purpose of making models, and thus are a fantastic aid in detailing models. In addition to the quality of the coverage, the photos are complemented by captions written by Ted Culotta that provide a wealth of information about the prototypes covered in the book. Volume Seven covers cars rebuilt from wood or composite cars into all-steel cars. Roads with cars profiled include ACL, ATSF, B&O, CN, CNW, GTW, NYC, RI, SL-SF, UP, WAB. 84 pages. Currently being reprinted; there is a discounted pre-publication price of $38.00 if ordered through October 25th, $42.00 thereafter. Books will ship the week of November 6th.
Due to inventory of previous volumes as well as the ability to now run smaller lots, the print run of this volume is significantly smaller than previous volumes. There is every expectation that it will sell out rapidly with no guarantee of a reprint in the near future, if at all. EVERY PURCHASE INCLUDES A DIGITAL COPY OF THE BOOK, AS WELL.
